About Unite for Hope

Unite in hope for all Australians impacted by upper GI cancers.

Each week, 223 Australians are diagnosed with an upper gastrointestinal cancer. With some of the lowest survival rates out of all the major cancers, Unite for Hope is about helping create greater awareness and action to fuel progress that improves outcomes for pancreatic, liver, stomach, biliary and oesophageal cancers.

Unite for Hope is our signature event uniting all Australians impacted by these devastating cancers. Due to the evolving landscape of rolling COVID lockdowns, event and social restrictions, in addition to state and territory boarder closures, our event will be hosted virtually on Sunday 24 October. So, whether you’re in Melbourne or Mackay, Perth or Port Macquarie, Sydney or the Sunshine Coast - you can join us – your place, your way!

Last year over 3000 people united at our events across the country to raise over $170,000 for Pancare Foundation when times were tough for many. We hope that by participating in our Unite for Hope event in 2021, you will create moments and memories of joy and hope to hold on to.

However you choose to participate, remember to follow us on Instagram and Facebook so that we can share your wonderful moments with fellow participants on the day - don’t forget to tag #pancareuniteforhope so we can help amplify our message!

Together or apart – we’re still united in hope. Don’t forget to make sure you’re complying with COVID public and social gathering rules in your local area, state or territory – stay safe and do the right thing!

How your support helps

Unite for Hope gives you the chance to unite in hope with others who have been personally affected by upper GI cancers.

With every step you take and every dollar you raise, you will be helping Pancare Foundation provide support services and invest funds into early detection and new treatments that can improve outcomes for patients.

$300 can help someone newly diagnosed with an upper GI cancer access an initial telehealth consultation session with a specialist upper GI cancer nurse.

$500 can provide emergency financial support to pay for out-of-pocket medical expenses and ease the burden on a struggling family.

$1,000 can help support research towards the discovery of new treatments and early detection for upper GI cancers.
